Help with replacing a Fender Pickguard?
I need help with replaing a pickguard on one of my old guitars. I have managed to remove the old one, but Im having difficulty identifying which wires go where between the new pickguard and the guitar.
On the pickguard, I have 2 free wires, one is YELLOW and the other is BLACK - both wires are soldered onto the Volume Control knob.
On the GUITAR, there is 1 wire coming from a set of springs, and another wire coming from the input jack.
The type of guitar is Fender Sunn Mustang Strat.

Isn't the pickguard made of plastic?
Why would it have any wires attached other than, possibly, an earth?
